Members of the Public Safety and National Security Committee

Bill C-391 is now before the Parliamentary Public Safety and National Security Committee for study.

The opposition Members of Parliament are the majority on the Committee and they need to hear from people who support public safety and don’t want to see this important policing tool dismantled and all of its records destroyed.

Contact the members on the Public Safety and National Security Committee and let them know that:

  • you support the gun registry.
  • the registry works – since gun owners were required to register rifles and shotguns, spousal deaths by guns have been reduced by 50%.
  • the registry is one of the most concrete measures taken by Parliament to reduce violence against women.
  • police across the country use the records in the registry over 10,000 times a day to keep our communities safe and to protect themselves on the job.
  • they should vote to keep our communities safe.
