CLC officers will celebrate Labour Day with Canadian workers on Monday, September 5. CLC President Ken Georgetti will be in Halifax, while Hassan Yussuff, CLC Secretary-Treasurer, will be in Toronto. Executive Vice-Presidents Barbara Byers and Marie Clarke Walker will be in Regina and Victoria, respectively.
Canadian workers have celebrated their achievements each year on Labour Day since it was declared a national holiday in 1894. This year the focus is on demanding the changes – in salaries, working conditions and pensions – that are needed to improve the lives of our children and grandchildren.
