The Canadian Labour Congress is shocked and saddened by violence involving the South African police at the Lonmin Marikana platinum mine where over 40 striking workers have been killed in recent days. The CLC extends its condolences to the families and friends of all those who lost their lives, and will issue a more detailed statement as soon as possible.
