The resolution condemns grave human rights violations committed by the illegitimate de facto regime. The Canadian Labour Congress is a member of the ITUC General Council and strongly supports the resolution. The CLC shares the ITUC’s hope that OAS-led negotiations for a resumption of democratic rule will bear fruit as soon as possible. The CLC has written the Canadian government demanding that Canada exert all pressure possible on the coup regime to bring this about.
