Canadian Labour Congress President Ken Georgetti has written to the Prime Minister to call for improved access to Employment Insurance benefits. Special measures which were part of the economic stimulus program have now expired, even though the jobs crisis continues. The number of regular EI beneficiaries is falling much faster than the number of unemployed workers, especially in hard-hit industrial communities.
